Sadly passed away in 2013Posh
Posh by nature, she didn’t like wet feet, sand or dog food cause she was a human so lined up at the table every night for dinner. We miss her so much.
Gaia
Gaia is a Standard Red Poodle bitch.
Gais DNA test showed 100% Standard Poodle and her DNA health testing is strong.
Gaia has joined the Poodle Central kennel’s breeding line.
Gaia currently stands 55 cm at the shoulder, so is fully grown from a height perspective .
Gaia is at optimum weight for age and height.
Gaia is a loving girl, with an outstanding temperament. She is in the habit of coming up and giving you a hug. She loves attention and has thrived in the poodle central environment where our home is their home.
Gaia has had two litters of Puppies ( as at Dec 2024 )and is a wonderful attentive mum.
when Cloud is the sire she has light apricot through Dark red offspring .
Gaia is playful and loves chasing the rest of crew around the yard, she rough and tumbles with Cloud and puts him in his place if he gets out of line.
Nights are great, she snuggles up on the couch beside you and watches TV, then goes to sleep and snores like a trooper.
Her fav movie is 101 dalmations .. it’s hilarious to observe her watching the movie… she never moves until the end.
After her last litter left for their forever homes, she decided she wouldn’t sleep in her crate at night and would lie down by our bed instead. The only issue with this behavior is that she lies on her back feet in the air ( dead frog ) and snores so loudly it wakes us up.
Cumulus Nimbus (affectionately known as Cloud)
Currently 2 years old.
Standard Poodle “Cloud” was welcomed to the Poodle Central family in 2023.
Cloud’s DNA test showed 100% Standard Poodle and his DNA health testing is strong.
Cloud is available to healthy bitches as a stud.
Cloud currently stands 60 cm at the shoulder, so is fully grown from a height and weight perspective.
Cloud is a loving hef-a-lump and he loves to play with the gang , his big rope and any ball you care to toss.
Nights are great, he snuggles up at your feet in front of the TV and goes to sleep.
Oden - Retired
Oden, our retired Resident Miniature Poodle Stud Dog and Graeme’s best mate.
Oden was Bred in Whanganui from NZKC registered parentage. His Dam was a light Apricot and his Sire was a dark red.
Oden stands 15 inches at the shoulder and weighs in at 7.5 – 8 kg. Oden tested clear in his DNA health testing. Oden has a soft and caring temperament, he’s not yappy, however as he has the gun dog genes he loves water so walking on the beach normally turns into a swim in the surf for him.
Oden like most poodles is highly intelligent and as such has bonded strongly with his family. Oden certainly thinks he is human so will line up for latte at breakfast time and moan at me if I don’t cook enough bacon to share.
Retirement has sat well with Oden and he is enjoying his twighlight years. At time of writing ( dec 2024) Oden is close to 13 years of age and is still as spritely as a puppy.
Freya (Retired)
Freya stands 13 inches at the shoulder. She is a Palmerston North girl bred by Bette McKay in No1 line.
Her Sire (Silver grey) & Dam was a light cream apricot.
Freya tested PRA free and genetic testing shows her to be 100% poodle. Freya is a real sweaty, she is loving retired life, her walks on the beach and being grandma to all the newest puppies.
Whilst Freya is spayed, she will still lie down and suckle the pups. It is amazing to watch as all the mums just let her into their whelping crate and allow her access to the pups.
Frig (Retired)
Frig stands 16 inches at the shoulder and she is a dark chocolate/silver, bred in the deepths of snow country in the Deep South of NZ.
Her dam was a dark chocolate and her sire was blue/black.
Frig tested PRA free and genetic testing shows her to be 100% poodle.
Frig was our first Moyan poodle and produced beautiful pups.
As Co-Matriarch with Freya she takes her role seriously and keeps everyone in line.
She is a little overweight as she is very food-orientated. This doesn’t stop her from being first to bark at the courtyard gate when we have visitors .
Fulla
Fulla stands 14.5 inches at the shoulder and she is a dark chocolate with aurbyn tints bred in Canterbury.
Her dam was dark chocolate, her sire was a deep red chocolate. Fullas sire was NCKC registered and tested PRA free. Her dam had undergone full genetic testing.
Fullas DNA profiling at Massey Genetic Centre shows her clear of all poodle genetic anomalies and she tested 100% Poodle.
Fulla has a loving and caring temperament. Fulla loves to do agility however giving up the ball when playing fetch is another story altogether.
Fulla is most likely found snuggled up with Graeme on the couch watching tv at night.
Last year Fulla was involved in an unfortunate accident which saw her loose her front right leg after 3 unsuccessful operations trying to repair it.
Her new nick name is “Tripod”.
She is still the fastest around the agility course and has adapted extremely well to three legs. When walking, her gait has changed, however at full gallop you would never pick she has lost a leg.
We now put a life jacket on her for walks on the beach ( 3 legged dogs don’t swim well )… however this doesnt stop her from jumping in the surf and after a couple of near misses and cold dips in the sea for Graeme (to pull her out), it was decided by management that she should wear a lifejacket. 🙂
Charlie
Charlie is a a light apricot purebred Miniature Poodle who stands 13.5 inches at the shoulder.
Charlie is a Poodle Central progeny Sired by Oden and was the first pick from Freya’s final litter.
Charlie has completed both DNA breed and health testing via Massey University in Palmerston North who do the genetic health testing onsite and send the breed testing off-shore to be completed.
Her DNA health testing regimen was 100% clear.
She tested 100% Poodle in the DNA breed test.
Charlie is a real mummy’s girl who loves to snuggle up on the couch and share her mums green tea. Her obedience training with Graeme was quite challenging as she has a formidable will, however once Mum took over the training everything progressed extremely well.

Onyx
Onyx is another Poodle Central progeny. She was first pick from Frig’s final litter sired by Oden.
Onyx lives up to her name and is a jet black purebred Miniature Poodle standing 14.5 inches at the shoulder.
Onyx has completed both DNA breed and full health testing via Massey University in Palmerston North
Her health testing regimen was 100% clear. She tested 100% Poodle in the DNA breed test.
Onyx is a cuddly and well-behaved girl who is currently excelling in obedience training.
Onyx is a late bloomer from a breeding viewpoint . She had her first fully blown heat in Jan 2024 and we are planning to breed her next year. The aim is to produce a litter of Moyan poodles with Cloud as stud.
